The present work can be called an “illegitimate child” since it is written by a scholar who devoted his entire academic life on the history and culture of the Ottoman Balkans. The “child” was born in Love, and this love for Birgi and its history of “an old Turkish Cultural centre” can be read between the lines of almost every part of this book.
