‘Like all my classmates, I was encompassed by Oya Başak’s zest and deep love of literature. She has inspired me to become a drama scholar and whenever I teach modern drama to undergraduate students, her words ring in my ears.This tribute is a joint product of all of Oya Başak’s students and colleagues in the Department of Western Languages and Literatures.’Aslı TekinayAslı Tekinay is professor of English and American Studies in the Department of Western Languages and Literatures at Boğaziçi University. She graduated from Robert College in 1981 and from Boğaziçi University in 1985. She received her M.A. in English at Southern Illinois University in 1987 and her Ph.D. at BU in 1992. She is one of a countless number of students influenced by the legendary chair of the English Department
