“Vocabulary treasure” is a test book intended to enrich and enhance vocabulary of the English language learners in Turkey. “Vocabulary Treasure” is specially designed for ELT department students and for those who want to improve their vocabulary. There is no doubt that as it is said in a motto “without grammar little can be conveyed; without vocabulary nothing can be conveyed”.The material in the book has been selected with utmost care ad extracted from a wide range of sources including newspapers, magazines, the internet, CNN, BBC, VOA, and other major media channels. The book includes Basic Word List which covers %80 percent of all texts in English. Other word lists such as Academic Word List, Words You Need,and High Frequency Word List, Synonyms, given in the book to support this basic word list. In addition to all these,Dictionary Exercise is especially prepared to attract the attention of the students to different meanings of the English words. List of Prefixes and Suffixes and also List of Conjunctions will make contributions to general comprehension of the learners and will enhance their vocabulary development as well.The writer believes that the book will be of great help for those who are anxious to improve their vocabulary in English as well as for those who are attending ELT Departments of our Universities.
