This book provides an introduction to the strategies for innovation protection and intellectual property for scholars interested in technology and innovation management, strategy, or entrepreneurship. It presents in general terms the principles underpinning industrial property rights and describes the most common forms of IP protection strategies used by firms including patents and utility models for inventions, industrial designs, trademarks, copyrights and integrated circuit topography. It also outlines informal protection means by which creators can seek protection for their industrial property.
