In the New Testament it says: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” So, everything began with Word, and Word has shaped us, our World, our cultures, and our affairs including diplomacy. Word is conveyed by interpreters, namely the mediators of communication. Diplomatic Interpreting involves a tough and painstaking work of the accurate transfer of meaning, and the Word- often under a great deal of pressure and stress. Highlighting the undeniable role of the diplo-cultural interpreter, this book aims at filling the vacuum in literature in Interpreting Studies. By suggesting novel concepts including interpretememe and interpretoir and bringing a new approach, this book delves into the journey of the diplomatic interpreter and the effort to remove linguistic and cultural barriers for the Word to prevail.
