Kariyerine kendi imkanlarıyla çektiği efsanevi El Mariachi ile başlayan, ardından Gün Batımından Şafağa, Günah Şehri ve Casus Çocuklar serisi gibi hem eleştirel hem de ticari başarı yakalayan yapımlarla adını duyuran sanatçı, son yıllarda Hipnotik: Zihin Avı ve Casus Çocuklar: Armageddon gibi türler arası denemelerini sürdürmekte; güncel çalışmalarında ise kariyerinin ilk animasyon uzun metraj filmi olan ve 2026 yılında duyurduğu The Naughty List (Yaramazlar Listesi) projesiyle yaratıcı vizyonunu yepyeni bir boyuta taşımaya hazırlanmaktadır.
